Dolce Delight is a new sweet shop located on Ithaca’s South Hill at 1080 Danby Road. Owned by Joe and Maria Savino, the shop is located right next door to their other business, Italian Carry Out. The store opened last August, initially offering Purity Ice Cream and soft serve ice cream. Throughout the past winter, they incorporated Gimme Coffee, chocolates & truffles, homemade pies, cookies, Greek and Italian pastries, homemade cannoli, morning treats, muffins, and scones into their menu. They also do cookie platters, pies, cakes, and cupcakes to order. In addition to Sweets, they also sell hot dogs and starting this month, will be offering an assortment of Moosewood Soups as well as a few choices of salads. Fresh, organic produce will also be offered from local farmers later this summerDolce Delight is a wonderful place to meet friends and enjoy a hot cup of coffee and pastry, or a milkshake and ice cream cone. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, their shop is a warm and welcoming place to be. As you walk in, you may notice that the wall on your right is filled with wonderful pictures of children that have enjoyed treats at Dolce. Owner Maria Savino states, “I have always wanted a sweet shop and have enjoyed baking all my life with my family. At Dolce Delight, we try to use as much local ingredients as possible…or as I like to say ‘The Best of Ithaca’.” Dolce Delight’s hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
